VILLAGES SAILING CLUB-- Commodore Rich Moser and I are discussing how his group can fit in with this blog. They have scheduled Saturday, January 31, an afternoon sail on Lake Sumter. The next monthly meeting is February 11.

OCALA SAILING CLUB-- Commodore Ken Delbeck and I are discussing how his group can fit in with our blog. He thinks it will be useful for him to keep track of regattas they might want to attend.

LAKE EUSTIS SAILING CLUB-- Commodore Hepting has been told we are doing this. We have a turn over of 10 to 20 members a year-- some of these are probably interested in sailing at a different level than small boat racing -- this may give them a view of other activities that are called sailing. We have a number of members from the Orlando area that might be interested in the activities of THE SAILING CLUB OF CENTRAL FLORIDA, LAKE MONROE SAILING ASSOCIATION, and CENTRAL FLORIDA YACHT CLUB. Current notes about LESC activities are below.

LAKE MONROE SAILING ASSOCIATION had the first three races of their Winter Series on Sunday. They have an interesting method of race control--because the scheduled Saturday was too cold, their telephone tree called everyone and postponed the races till Sunday. Altogether seven boats raced on Sunday, three races which included a boat sailing off with the windward mark hooked to his keel, a three boat pile up at the windward mark, and winds better than 20 for the last race that sent several boats home early. More on the winners, etc as I extract that information from people. Next event is Social Sail on January 25.

CENTRAL FLORIDA YACHT CLUB should have just finished a cruise to Silver Glen. February 13-14-15 they have a trip scheduled to Boca Ciego via Gulfport.

THE SAILING CLUB OF CENTRAL FLORIDA has the next club meeting January 26 at the Colonialtown Comunity Center. After the meeting to the Uno Chicago Grill, 4120 East Colonial Drive for refreshments. Interested in sailing lessons, go to web site and fill out application.

LAKE HARRIS SAILING CLUB next meeting a pot luck lunch. The schedule is below and call or email for directions.
