LAKE EUSTIS SAILING CLUB

At the Florida Inland Lake Youth Championship Regatta, the west coast youth girl sailors came to Eustis and showed the others how to do it.

No wind on Saturday and no races, but Sunday was great. In the 26 boat fleet of Optimist Prams (the tiny 8 foot square bowed boat sailed by youth the world around.) Alicia Muscato of North Port was first and Alexa Lynch of St. Pete was second. Arden Haley of Daytona Beach was third.

Of the 11 to 12 year olds in that group Luke Yates of Eustis was first, Chris Nagy of Winter Park was second, and Darby Capellin of Daytona Beach was third.

In the ten year group Max Epaillard of Mt. Dora was first. In the large group of first time sailor racers,
Sasha Yates of Eustis was first, Megan Mallo of Eustis was second and Josh Mayr of Orange City

was third.
Seven Laser radials raced with Ben Getchell of Eustis first, winning all five of his races. Ryan Clarke of Daytona Beach was second and Taylor Denny of Daytona Beach was third..

The Club 420 sloops, sailed by team of two, had no out of town entries, but Jonathan Watson/Bart Echart were first, Samantha Spring/Caroline Ladley second, and Melanie Ladley/Darcy Jensen

Club racing will continue this coming weekend and the following weekend the Lake Eustis Sailing Club will host a Regatta for MC scows and Melges 17 scows invited from Southeast region of Texas to North Carolina.
