Weekly note about what is happening.

VILLAGE SAILING CLUB. No response to e-mail or phone call.

OCALA SAILING CLUB. No response to e-mail or phone call.

LAKE EUSTIS SAILING CLUB. The newspaper release= Jim Lingeman continued his winning streak at the Lake Eustis Sailing Club races this past weekend. With the tricky winds, he was able to come from behind and win both races on Saturday in the Wayfarer Fleet. Dave Hepting was second and Mike Murto third..
In the Saturday MC scow races, David Moring was first, Jon Pomerleau-second, and Geoff Moehl-third. Richard Kinnie won the C scow class. George Golder lead the Flying Scott fleet, with Ray Laguna second, and Don Browning third. The Sunday races were cancelled because of no wind.
The Laser Fleet was able to get races in both days and the winner was Alejandro Illera, with Rob Krentel second, and Patrick Daniel third. Jennifer Burno was the first woman and Pearce Pomerleau the first youth. In the high school sailing club 420 boats, Conner Kechriotis and Seth Bahr were first and Bart Eckhart and Jonathan Watson second.
After the races on Saturday trophies were presented to the Laser fleet for winners of the Winter Hartge Series, named after Capt. Dick Hartge who was commodore of the Sailing club in 1964, 1965, 1966. He built sailboats and rented them from his property just West of the Eustis public launching ramp. Jane Hartge, widow of Capt. Dick, presented the trophies. Rob Krentel won first place, second Sam Chapin, third Patrick Daniel, fourth Jerry Beck, and fifth Marc Solal. Caroline Chapin placed first in the women’s division, with Jennifer Burno in second, and Leah Ladley in third. Pearce Pomerleau was the first youth, followed by Caroline Chapin in second, and Max Barten in third.
Next weekend will be the 10th Annual Wayfarer Regatta with boats coming from Michigan and Canada. as well as the MC scow section of the George Washington Birthday Regatta. The full George Washington Birthday Regatta is scheduled for February 21 and 22.

LAKE MONROE SAILING ASSOCIATION. The Tequila Sunday Race is coming up on February 8th.
check in 1:30 On the water at 2 PM.

Rules:
1. Look for the vehicle with the RC flag and check in.
2. Informal race instructions will be handed out at that time.
3. Race the course selected.
4. Keep your own elapsed time (trust is involved).
5. Return to Limoncello's for adult beverages, food and conversation.
6. Report your elapsed time to Mike.
7. Sores posted that day.
8. First place boat wins a bottle of Patron Silver Tequila.

CENTRAL FLORIDA YACHT CLUB.. Cool weather has reduced participation in recent activities.
Meetings the second Wednesday of the month at Perkins.
Next Scheduled event is Febhruary 13-14-15 trip to Boca Ciego via Gulfport.

THE SAILING CLUB OF CENTRAL FLOIRDA. Next meeting Feb 23 at Colonialtown Community Center. Last month the program was Celestial Navigation and this month it is Basic Navigational Charting. For sailing lessons, check the web site and the good newsletter.
