At the Lake Eustis Sailing Club over the past several years Joan and Dave Williams have run the races as United States Sailing Certified Club Race Officers. Dave has recently passed the test for District Certified Race Officer and is listed as such. He has District D of the United Sates which is the 9 southeast states from Arkansas and Tennessee to Florida. That means that they may be off to run Championship races around the district.
Over the weekend in the MC fleet you could have called the winner Dave, because Dave Johnson was first, Dave Moorhouse second and Dave Moring third. Commodore June Howells was the first woman and Jennifer Jones was the second woman.
The Flying Scot races were won by Chris Erichsen. Ray Laguna was second and Ron Baerwitz third. Ron won both races on Saturday, but did not compete on Sunday.
Jim Lingeman won 3 out of the four races of the Wayfarer group with Dave Hepting second and Mike Murto third.
In the Laser fleet’s 12 races over the weekend, Alejandro Illera was first, Ron Krentel second, and Patrick Daniel third.
Sailing lessons with youth and high school students continues on Saturdays. Racing resumes on New Years Day.

Happy Thanksgiving to all member and friends of The Lake Monroe Sailing Association! Here is what is happening this week at LMSA:
Saturday, November 21st - Willie, Orion, Andy, Mike Padgett, Popeye, Bill, Lee Atkinson, Lee and Mike headed up to Crescent City for the 2nd Annual Bear Island Regatta. The Crescent City Yacht Club put on a class act as 10 boats competed on Crescent Lake. It was a gorgeous day as the temperatures stayed cool and the winds light. The one lap race around Bear Island was challenging but fun. If you have never been to Crescent City we highly recommend this beautiful place in the country with a great lake.
LMSA came away with three trophies as Show Me piloted by Andy Forrest, Mike Padgett and Popeye took top honors in the their class. Lee Adkison and his crew named Lee took third on Dauntless. Lough-Buoy showed in the board boat division.
Thanks to all of the members that came out to help make this a great regatta.
..
